What is the difference between the two IR400 units?

The IR400T is a dual channel headphone BUT the transmitter allows for hookup to a single source. A single-source transmitter provides hook ups for a stereo or a TV. If you have purchased an IR400T, Channel B will not be functional. This is due to the transmitter’s ability to process only ONE source.

The IR400T2 is also a dual channel headphone BUT the transmitter is for hookup to dual sources. A Dual-source transmitter provides hook ups to both the stereo and the TV; two audio sources simultaneously. If you have purchased an IR400T2, Channel B will function with a source connected. Thus, Channel A and Channel B are open for two different sources to be used simultaneously.

What is the difference between your Noise Canceling units?

Able Planet offers four Active Noise canceling Headphones with the Patented LINX AUDIO Technology. Depending on your needs the following can help you decide which product is best for you:

Clear Harmony: NC1000CH is the highest quality noise canceling product Able Planet manufactures. It incorporates the highest quality speakers, component and comfort. If you are a frequent traveler, audiophile or just want superior sound performance this is the product for you. This product offers our richest fullest sound quality across the frequency spectrum.

Sound Clarity: NC500SC utilizes slightly different components and speakers which results in a more discernable midrange and a little less bass. These were originally designed for people with mild to moderate hearing loss but if you truly enjoy less bass these are for you.

True Fidelity: NC500TF provides optimal sound clarity at a reasonable price. They too utilize a different speaker and component system that reduces the bass overlap and leverages the same active noise cancelation that all of our headphones provide.

Lost Cauze Gaming Headphones: NC500LC headphones are ideal for gaming as they are “tweaked” even more in the mid and upper mid-range frequency to provide better speech clarity and detail while reducing the bass overlap in these critical “listening” frequencies. This will allow the gamer to hear the door open before anyone else.

They all employ the same noise-canceling circuitry, designed to cancel ambient white noise. The Sensitivity is at 1K is 115db with noise canceling off and 121db with noise canceling on.

Why do I hear white noise in my headphones when I am not playing music?

Able Planet Noise Canceling headphones sample the exterior noise and the circuitry will suppress the noise as it is transmitted via the internal speakers/headphones. What your are hearing is the active noise canceling attempting to suppress background noise. When no signal is present (a song being played) it will generate a minimal amount of white noise. However, once a signal is engaged, it should be completely eliminated and all that should be heard is music or the audio source.
