I just received these today and plugged them into my desktop because I like listening to music while working or surfing. What an amazing difference. I can actually hear every nuance of Mannheim Steamroller music but CAN'T hear the TV which is playing in the same room. The bass was initially kind of boomy, but went into the settings for the Realtek HD Audio Manager and was able to get the headphones to sound just the way I like them! An excellent buy and highly recommended to folks like me who have lost a certain amount of high-frequency hearing because of age. These phones allow you to listen at low volume and still hear all the music. Also, dialogue for movies is much more clear. No more "What did he say?"
